Purpose: For the Strength of Youth (FSY) is a large project that I had the opportunity to develop for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The project was composed of four parts. 1) A registration site for the participants and counselors. 2) An approval flow and verification for the legal guardians. 3) Approval for the bishops. 4) Administration pages for the people running the camp.
History: For years, the various stakes around the world have used their own registration sites that have had widely different capabilities. Some even used Facebook to register kids. With that information, we set out by working with the German office to customize a site based off of their needs to fit those of the rest of the world. Project completed in 2015.
Journey map and Interviews: Conducting stakeholder interviews and interviews with the German office, I determined a rough journey map that would help the user get to where they needed to go. Please see the journey map below to view the different user flows.

PART 1: A registration site for the participants and counselors.
After establishing that, I set out to wireframe/lo fi prototype most of the participant and counselor pages.

Next, I worked on the branding and style of the page. The client wanted to use this image as the main photo and inspiration. The Shepard’s crook illustration was not created by me. But I did use it as a basis for a color palette and style sheet.

Next, high fidelity wireframes for participants and counselors: It starts off with information about FSY in general. During registration, participants/counselors can either select the FSY session by ‘Session’ or by the ‘Stake’ they are in. We also wanted to include an option for participants/counselors that are not part of the invited stake to be waitlisted to attend. (This is the case if they want to be with their friends or attend in a specific location.)

Once they select their session, there is an option for the participants/counselors to either register online or to print out their packet on the main site for each session. A standard application form with a requirement to accept the Dress and Standard Codes is next. Finally, a status page with the option to cancel registration is present. The application will go first to the guardian, and then to the bishop for approval.
PART 2: Approvals from the legal guardians. The guardian then will be met with a list of names they have pending approvals for. If they would like to view the application and terms they can, and with a simple check mark or x, they can approve or deny the participant from going. (Counselors are over 18 and technically do not need guardian approval, but they are still required to obtain Bishop approval.)

PART 3: Bishop Approval. Bishops can review applications and see where the status of the application is. They can also bypass the online guardian approval if the guardian has filled out a paper approval. They can enter the amount required for the ward per participant and they can also enter in how much each participant has contributed. (Oftentimes a participant will be sponsored and so they don’t need to contribute the whole amount to go to FSY.)
Stake leadership can also view how each ward and bishop is doing. This will help the administrators for the FSY session plan for how many participants and counselors to plan for.

PART 4: Administration pages. These allow for upload of content and info for the session. The admins can also approve waitlisted people and see who all is coming and any special notes they have.

Part 5: Mobile
Finally, I provided the developers with mobile mockups on some of the trickier screens so they could see how things would respond down.
