Scriptures Project

While working for the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, part of my role was to update and bring further functionality to the section of the scriptures site. Below are some of the interactions and designs that I developed. To see on where we landed, see the Invision prototype here or below

Originally, the scriptures site was quite dated. I worked with the overall LDS.org team to honor branding also met with developers to discuss functionality. I worked with the User Research team and observed user testing. Here are some of the notes from my sessions observing user testing.

Small iterative changes had to be considered. Please see the evolution that was designed.

The Original Site
New header, updated the background color, and tweaked navigation.
Updated the tools
Updated the navigation.
Then I tried tucking all of the navigation and tools into the header. Footnotes, notes, tags, links would all reside in a drawer. Navigation to the next page would be possible through side arrows. Overall, visually too busy.
Final designs. Cleaner layout. Drawer can hold related content and footnotes.
